Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wash with LOVLAST if the garment manufacturer recommends dry cleaning?

NO! Follow the garment directions on the label. You should probably apply this guideline when using any detergent.

Can I wash with LOVLAST if the garment is not colorfast?

NO! Follow your garment directions as displayed on the garment. Do not use if garments are not colorfast. To determine, first check the label.

Clothing labels that read “wash separately,” “wash in cold water,” “hand wash,” “do not use detergent,” or “turn inside out to launder” may indicate that the dyes in these items are not colorfast and may bleed onto other garments during washing. If you are not 100% convinced, conduct a colorfast test.

How do I conduct a colorfast test?

1. Soak an inconspicuous corner of the material in a cup of warm water and a teaspoon of detergent.
2. Wait for two to three minutes.
3. Blot with a white paper towel. If the colors do not change, run, or transfer to the paper towel, and if the item is definitely washable, you may safely use LOVLAST.

How do I machine wash with LOVLAST?

Use one-quarter cup LOVLAST for a 10-pound load. Follow your washing machine manufacturer’s recommended settings and timing for each fabric, but use COLD water only!

How do I hand-wash with LOVLAST?

Pour one capful of LOVLAST into two quarts of COLD water. Soak for five minutes, gently squeezing the garment, then rinse thoroughly. Remove any excess water by rolling in a towel.

How do I treat stains with LOVLAST?

Saturate the stain with LOVLAST full strength. Wet with COLD water and rub the fabric against itself. Wash garment per the above directions. Do not dry in the sun.

How do I wash bras with LOVLAST?

You can hand-wash your delicate bras in LOVLAST whenever you like. Use your judgment on how often to wear them before laundering. Add 1 teaspoon of LOVLAST to each bra and wash it in a basin to make disposing of the liquid easier.

Want to use a washing machine? It’s okay, but the rinse cycle is what harms them. It tortures bras by bending and stretching the supporting wires and twisting the fabric. If you do this, use a lingerie bag to protect your expensive garments.

To wash lingerie in a bag, follow these steps: Ensure the fasteners are clasped. Use a capful of LOVLAST per load and set the temperature to cold. Wash on delicate. Hang dry, never use the dryer!

Why is shipping so expensive?

It is, and it isn’t.

Everyone is used to free Amazon shipping. But if you look closely enough, you see that these costs are integrated into the price you pay. There really is no such thing as a free lunch.

Our idea is to keep the shipping separate. We use a discounted shipping service provider to keep the costs down. The price would double if we went through USPS or UPS countertop pricing.
